Editorial Policy

Effective date: 26 April 2026

The credibility of HelloBseb US rests on the trust of the international students, families, and educators who read what we publish. This Editorial Policy describes the standards we apply to our content, how we research and write our articles, how we handle corrections and updates, and how we manage potential conflicts of interest. We publish this policy because transparency is the simplest way to earn and keep that trust.

Editorial mission

Our mission is to publish clear, honest, in-depth resources for international students considering or pursuing higher education in the United States. We aim to give readers the information they need to make informed decisions about universities, applications, scholarships, visas, and student life — without selling, hyping, or simplifying issues that deserve nuance.

Independence

HelloBseb US is editorially independent. Our articles are not influenced, directed, or pre-approved by any university, government agency, recruiting service, scholarship organization, or commercial sponsor. We do not accept payment in exchange for favorable coverage of any institution or program. Where we discuss specific universities, scholarships, or services, that coverage reflects our editorial judgment, not a paid placement.

If we ever publish content that is sponsored, partnership-supported, or otherwise commercially affiliated, we will clearly disclose that relationship at the top of the article. To date, we have not published any sponsored content.

How we research our articles

Each article on the Website is the product of original research by our editorial team. Our research approach typically includes:

  • Reviewing primary sources, including university websites, government agency publications (such as those from the US Department of State, US Citizenship and Immigration Services, and the US Department of Education), and official scholarship program documentation.
  • Consulting reputable secondary sources, including academic studies, education-focused journalism, and publications from established higher-education organizations.
  • Drawing on the firsthand experiences of our team members and contributors, who have studied at, worked at, or worked closely with American universities.
  • Cross-checking data points such as tuition figures, application deadlines, scholarship amounts, and visa rules against multiple authoritative sources before publication.

Accuracy and fact-checking

We make every reasonable effort to ensure that the information we publish is accurate at the time of publication. Each article is reviewed by at least one editor besides the author before publication. Numerical claims, deadlines, and policy descriptions are verified against current primary sources.

That said, the higher-education and immigration landscape changes frequently. Tuition rates change. Scholarship deadlines shift. Visa policies evolve. We periodically review and update our older articles, but we cannot guarantee that every figure or rule remains current. Readers should always confirm critical information directly with the relevant institution or government agency before acting on it.

Corrections policy

If we discover a factual error in an article — or if a reader points one out — we correct it as soon as practical. For minor errors (such as typos or formatting issues), we update the article without notice. For substantive corrections that change the meaning of a sentence or paragraph, we add a brief correction note at the bottom of the article describing what was changed and when.

If you believe we have made a factual error, please write to us at us@hellobseb.com with the article title, the specific claim you believe is incorrect, and a credible source supporting the correction. We will review and respond.

Opinions and personal experience

Many of our articles include opinions, observations, and personal experiences from the authors. These reflect the views of the individual writer at the time of writing. We mark clearly when an article is presenting opinion or personal experience as opposed to documented fact, and we encourage readers to weigh personal accounts as one input among many.

Sources and attribution

When we use specific data, statistics, or direct quotations from external sources, we attribute them appropriately within the text or in linked references. We avoid relying on a single source for any significant factual claim. When we summarize or paraphrase ideas from another writer, we credit the original source.

AI-assisted writing

We may use artificial intelligence tools to support certain editorial tasks, such as proofreading, generating outlines, or organizing research notes. All published articles are reviewed and edited by human editors before publication, and the final wording, judgments, and editorial decisions are made by humans. We do not publish content that is unreviewed AI output.

User comments and contributions

We welcome thoughtful comments and reader contributions. Comments are moderated to ensure they are relevant, respectful, and free of spam, abusive language, or promotional material. We reserve the right to edit, decline, or remove comments that do not meet these standards.

Reader stories or guest contributions, when accepted, are reviewed and edited by our team for accuracy, clarity, and alignment with our editorial standards. Authors are credited by name unless they request anonymity.

Conflicts of interest

If a writer has a personal or financial relationship with an institution, scholarship program, or service that is mentioned in an article, that relationship is disclosed within the article. Members of our editorial team are required to disclose potential conflicts of interest before contributing to relevant content.

Advertising

We may display third-party advertisements on the Website through services such as Google AdSense. These advertisements are served algorithmically and are not selected or endorsed by our editorial team. The presence of an advertisement on a page does not imply endorsement of the advertised product or service. Our editorial coverage is independent of the advertisements that may appear alongside it.

Updates to this policy

We may update this Editorial Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in the broader media environment. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
